South Powerhouse Rehab

Projects

South Powerhouse Flume

Problem: Many years operations caused a buildup of debris in the flume.  Excess debris was built up in front of trash racks.  All of the debris needed to be removed to complete the rehabilitation work.

Solution:  BA Green put mini excavators in the flume.  A crane was used to lift out the debris.  Debris was placed downstream on the access road that was built for dam repair to shore up the bank.

Exterior Northeast Corner of Powerhouse

Problem: The northeast corner of the South Powerhouse was severely degraded, with scour holes underneath the #4 turbine draft tube and significantly degrading concrete on the east wall of #4.

Solution: Kissick Construction installed new concrete foundations and supporting walls to surround the northeast corner of the powerhouse. Primary Trash Chute was rehabilitated with a steel floor and sides and the outfall received a coat of shotcrete
